PhD 1989, Associate Professor (docent) 1996. Lecturer mainly in economic geography and in urban and regional planning. Coordinator of the Bachelor Programme in Urban and Regional Planning. My general research interest lies within the field of regional development. Current research has its focus on the challenges and opportunities for non- core regions and SMEs in times of more or less continuous structural change. Besides teaching and research I have since long been engaged in the “third task”, that is to communicate research to practice. I have been developing and organizing courses with practioners as target group within the fields of urban and regional development and local business development, but also by taking part in advisory/reference groups, public seminars etc.
