Teis Hansen is Associated Senior Lecturer in Economic Geography. Teis has the following research interest:

  • The geography of sustainability transitions
  • Proximity in collaboration projects
  • Development of low-tech industries
  • Innovation and innovation policy
  • Regional development (including cross-border regions)
  • Technology transfer in the field of renewable energy

Teis is leading the project GONST – Where does the Green Economy Grow? The Geography of Nordic Sustainability Transitions (2017-2019), financed by NordForsk, Nordic Innovation and Nordic Energy Research. Read here for more info.

Teis currently participates in a number of other research projects:

  • REINVENT – Realising Innovation in Transitions for Decarbonisation. Financed by The European Commission, Horizon 2020 (2016-2020)
  • STEPS – Sustainable Plastics and Transition Pathways. Financed by The Swedish Foundation for Strategic Environmental Research (MISTRA) (2016-2020)
  • Greening the Fleet – Sustainability Transitions in the Maritime Shipping Sector. Financed by The Research Council of Norway (2017-2020)
  • Green transition and co-evolution of industry and the energy system. Financed by The Swedish Energy Agency (2014-2018)
