Teis Hansen is Senior Lecturer in Economic Geography. Teis has an interest in the relation between innovation, sustainability, policy and globalisation. His research focuses on the importance of spatial aspects of innovation processes for sustainability transitions; transformative innovation policy; the role of innovation in the bioeconomy; and on the position of emerging economies in global innovation processes within the field of renewable energy. 

Teis is leading the project GONST – Where does the Green Economy Grow? The Geography of Nordic Sustainability Transitions (2017-2020), financed by NordForsk, Nordic Innovation and Nordic Energy Research. Read here for more info.

Teis currently participates in a number of other research projects:

  • REINVENT – Realising Innovation in Transitions for Decarbonisation. Financed by The European Commission, Horizon 2020 (2016-2020)
  • STEPS – Sustainable Plastics and Transition Pathways. Financed by The Swedish Foundation for Strategic Environmental Research (MISTRA) (2016-2020)
  • Greening the Fleet – Sustainability Transitions in the Maritime Shipping Sector. Financed by The Research Council of Norway (2017-2020)
