Elena Zukauskaite

Presentation

Elena Zukauskaite is a postdoc and director of studies at CIRCLE. She has a PhD degree in economic geography from the Department of Human Geography at Lund University.

Her PhD thesis “Institutions and the Geography of Innovations: A Regional Perspective” takes a regional innovation system approach as a point of departure and aims to advance the knowledge about the role of institutions in innovation processes within regional innovation systems. Her research focus is on geography of innovations, institutions, regional innovation policies and regional economies. Currently she is involved in two international projects – ‘Smart Specialization for Regional Innovation’ and ‘Global Innovation Networks, Regional Variety and Its Impact on the Innovativeness of Firms and Regions: The IT and New Media Industry in Sweden in a Global Comparative Perspective’.
