Late applications

The possibility of late application will open for some of the courses at the department after the original rounds. Apply via:

Apply for courses

When you apply for studies at Lund University, you apply online through or (for international students). There you can also follow your application and check that all your grades and supporting documents are accepted. When you have recieved your notification of results, please do not forget to reply.

How to send your application

General information about application and admission

The application deadline for Autmn and Spring semester is usually set for the following dates:

  • International round - January 15th for studies that start in autumn, and August 15th for studies that start in spring
  • National round - April 15th for studies that start in autumn, and October 15th for studies that start in spring

Our Master's programmes are only open in the international round. Our Bachelor's programme in Development Studies is open in both rounds.

Admission is done by Swedish Council for Higher Education.

For international applicants

From autumn 2011 applicants with citizenship in countries not within the EU/EEA, or Switzerland, are required to pay application and tuition fees for university studies in Sweden. An application fee must be received by the deadline indicated in order for your application to be processed.

Applying for a Master's programme

If you are finishing your Bachelor's and are planning to apply for a Master's programme, read carefully about which types of supporting documents you need to send with your application. This information is published on the programme page. Type of documents that can be required could be a CV, Letetr of Intent, statement of purpose etc.

Admission for studies abroad

Admission for studies abroad/exchange studies is done according to the instruction published on the respective faculty/department's website. When you apply for studies abroad, please note that semester dates and the amount of credits per semester could be different from the ones that we have in Sweden. Check this information before you send your application.
