Research project title: Streets of sustenance? Investigating the built and food environment in relation to diet, nutrition and health in Andhra Pradesh, India.

The multidisciplinary research project is framed within the Andhra Pradesh Children and Parents Study (APCAPS), and as such is complementary to the wider research aim to profile how changes in the built and food environment may be associated with nutritional and epidemiological transitions in India.

The PhD research draws from theoretical strands of critical geography, development geography and political ecology to inform and apply geospatial based GIS methods within the field of epidemiology and population health.
