Future Makers – Mining Worlds in Kejetia, Ghana
Documentary screening and discussion
Eleanor Fisher will show and discuss the 15-minutes long documentary Gold Matters in Kejetia (Gbane, Ghana) – Future Makers. The film was part of the collaborative EU-Horizon 2020 funded research led by Eleanor – Sustainability Transformations in Artisanal and Small-scale Gold Mining: Transregional and Multi-actor Perspectives (GOLD MATTERS).
To make the film, Gold Matter’s team members anthropologist Sabine Luning and photographer Nii Obodai were joined by film-maker and director Gideo Vink and his collaborator Massihoud Barry. They teamed up with three miners of the mining community in Gbane: Lamisi Yiwaali, Zakari Imrana, and Haruna Bashiru to make a film about how they would like to portray their lives and mining worlds.
